Asset finance spreads the cost of vehicles, machinery and equipment over its working life through hire purchase or leasing, with the asset itself securing the agreement so your cash stays in the business. Practice owners use Rook Bristol asset finance to buy imaging, diagnostic or dental equipment or refurbish surgeries to CQC standards, with up to 60 months, matched to the asset's working life and decision within 24 hours.

Common uses in healthcare & medical

  • Buy imaging, diagnostic or dental equipment
  • Refurbish surgeries to CQC standards
  • Bridge NHS and insurer payments
  • Recruit and onboard a new clinician
  • Acquire or open another practice

Why practice owners choose asset finance

NHS and insurers pay on their schedule

NHS contract payments, private medical insurers and local authority care fees follow their own timetables. Invoice finance and revolving credit bridge the wait.

Clinical equipment is expensive

Dental chairs, imaging, lasers and diagnostic systems can be spread over their working life with asset finance.

Regulation shapes spending

CQC standards and infection-control requirements can mean refurbishment on a timetable you don't set.

New clinicians take time to pay back

Adding an associate or practitioner pays off, but only after months of ramp-up.

How does asset finance work?

  1. 1

Send us the supplier's quote, new or used, and tell us whether you want to own the asset at the end or simply use it.

  2. 2

We confirm the asset's value and recommend hire purchase or leasing, with a term matched to how long the asset will earn for you.

  3. 3

Once you sign, we pay the supplier directly and the asset is delivered to you.

  4. 4

Make fixed monthly payments. With hire purchase, ownership passes to you after the final payment; with leasing, you can return, extend or upgrade.

Can practice owners qualify for asset finance?
Many can. We typically look for a UK-registered business, 6 months trading and £10K+ in monthly turnover. We review healthcare & medical businesses with the sector's cash-flow patterns in mind. All finance is subject to status.
What is asset finance?
Asset finance is a way to acquire business equipment and spread the cost over time. The two main types are hire purchase, where you own the asset at the end, and leasing, where you rent it for an agreed period.
What's the difference between hire purchase and leasing?
With hire purchase you pay in instalments and ownership transfers to you after the final payment, usually with a small option-to-purchase fee. With leasing the finance provider owns the asset and you pay to use it, with options to return, extend or upgrade at the end.
Do you finance clinical and dental equipment?
Yes. Asset finance covers new and used clinical equipment, from dental chairs and CBCT scanners to aesthetics lasers and diagnostics.
