Asset finance for retail & ecommerce

Asset finance spreads the cost of vehicles, machinery and equipment over its working life through hire purchase or leasing, with the asset itself securing the agreement so your cash stays in the business. Retailers use Rook Bristol asset finance to place a larger seasonal stock order or scale paid social and search campaigns, with up to 60 months, matched to the asset's working life and decision within 24 hours.

Why retailers choose asset finance

You pay suppliers first

Stock is ordered months before it sells. A revolving facility covers the gap and becomes available again as stock sells through.

Golden quarter decides the year

Fund the Christmas order in September, then repay from peak trade in November and December.

Ad spend compounds

When a campaign is working, revenue-based finance lets you scale it, with repayments that follow the sales it generates.

Imports tie up cash

Duty, freight and import VAT are paid long before goods reach the shelf. Short-term credit keeps that from starving the rest of the business.

How does asset finance work?

  1. 1

Send us the supplier's quote, new or used, and tell us whether you want to own the asset at the end or simply use it.

  2. 2

We confirm the asset's value and recommend hire purchase or leasing, with a term matched to how long the asset will earn for you.

  3. 3

Once you sign, we pay the supplier directly and the asset is delivered to you.

  4. 4

Make fixed monthly payments. With hire purchase, ownership passes to you after the final payment; with leasing, you can return, extend or upgrade.

What do I need to qualify?

Can retailers qualify for asset finance?
Many can. We typically look for a UK-registered business, 6 months trading and £10K+ in monthly turnover. We review retail & ecommerce businesses with the sector's cash-flow patterns in mind. All finance is subject to status.
What is asset finance?
Asset finance is a way to acquire business equipment and spread the cost over time. The two main types are hire purchase, where you own the asset at the end, and leasing, where you rent it for an agreed period.
What's the difference between hire purchase and leasing?
With hire purchase you pay in instalments and ownership transfers to you after the final payment, usually with a small option-to-purchase fee. With leasing the finance provider owns the asset and you pay to use it, with options to return, extend or upgrade at the end.
Can online-only businesses apply?
Yes. We look at turnover, bank data and payment platform history, not whether you have a physical shop.
